In the past months there have been many posts about the lack of women entrepreneurs. There are folks grappling with how to make it better, how to bring more women into the fold, or just how to keep men from getting blamed for the problem.
I am a technologist. I build things with ones and zeros. They are built for the warm, loving, compassionate folks we call humans. I live in a city with lots of educated folks, folks who work in technology, folks with lots of degrees, and folks without degrees that are really smart, creative and innovative. This is Santa Cruz.

Santa Cruz is getting ready for another barcamp event. This weekend is Freelance Camp in happy downtown Santa Cruz. We had a great event last year with over 100 freelancers and entrepreneurs. This year promises to raise the crowd to over 200 people.
I’ve been a late bloomer to the blog movement. I pretty much just skipped straight to Twitter. That isn’t to say I haven’t blogged, it’s just that all of my blog starts have been only that – starts. I have loved Twitter for the ease and simplicity of tossing out ideas, reflections, reactions and short conversation. But lately I've missed out on the value of a deeper conversation that blogging has to offer.
